I Land Entire of Myself

Resignation and rationalization.
It all comes down to those,
Our ultimate consolers, final counselors,
Whose stern advice we follow and repeat
Even alone, that we did our best at the time
All along reassuring ourselves that
What we got was what we had wanted though
Not always sure still went along and now
Accept what is uncertain feeling yet
Exceptional in ourselves, each unique.
For I know with a certitude my situation
Worked out for me discovering these truths
Such that I lovingly embrace
My loneliness and squalor as if they were
The cherished spouse and children utterly
Absent from my happy ending, hero I!
The revelation more than compensates
Exposing what in others hides at least one lie.
