Renaissance with Rain
Renaissance
After so many failures, it
found me,
That nascent joy I always
had back when
I woke up smiling with
delight to be,
I suddenly found I was
singing again.
I wanted for it as a flower
in spring
Longs for the sun to open
up its bloom.
Strangely, it was raining
when I began to sing
Again, and I cried singing
in my room.
While in the shower,
crying, under the water,
I heard the greater shower
outside, a patter,
Mingling with my singing,
echoing
Each other, as my singing
echoed other
Songs, sung when younger,
strangely startling,
Hearing this music, of
which I was the author;
But something greater moved
me then to sing,
Crying in the shower as it
rained outside,
As though a world of winter
turned to spring,
My little music echoing
deeper inside
Swelled my voice in full
flower after years
Of silence, filling my song
while welling tears.
